Saint Jerome
Antonio Vivarini
1450
Triptych with St Jerome
San Francesco della Vigne, Venice
I don't know for certain who the other saints are; the work is on the west wall of San Francesco della Vigne.
In the middle, possibly St Anthony of Padua, and on the right, St Louis of Toulouse.
Master of the Gesuati

Scenes from the Life of Saint Jerome
Brear, Milan
These two small
panels, with three others, once formed part of an altarpiece.
The presence of friars belonging to the Order of the Gesuati has led to the suggestion that they were commissioned for the oratory of San Girolamo in Ferrara, founded by the Order.
Piero della Francesca
1451
Saint Jerome and a donor
Gallerie dell'Accademia, Venice
Probably to be included amongst the "many of small figures" mentioned by Vasari as being commissioned by several rulers during Piero's journeys in the Marches and Emilia-Romagna.
On the ground, in the foreground, there is also an inscription indicating that the panel was commissioned by Gerolamo Amadi "veneziano" who is shown kneeling in prayer before the saint.
The donor and his protecting saint appear to be conversing as equals.
Benozzo Gozzoli

Commissioned by the bishop of Recanati, Benedetto Guidalotti, who came
from Perugia, for the Chapel of St Jerome in Perugia.
Filippino Lippi

The Virgin and Child with Saints Jerome and Dominic
National Gallery
Painted for the burial chapel founded by Filippo di Vanni Rucellai in the new church of S. Pancrazio, Florence, belonging to the Vallombrosans, an order of reformed Benedictine monks dedicated to penitence.
His sons (commemorated in an inscription in the chapel) Girolamo (died 1516) and Domenico (died 1484) were probably responsible for the commission and for the choice of their name saints Jerome and Dominic.
Saint Jerome is shown twice, in penitence on the left, and in the background with his lion. Saint Dominic holds a lily; the building behind him may be a Dominican hospital.

Tuccio d'Andria
1487
The Virgin enthroned with Saints and donors
Museo delle Cathedrale, Savona, Liguria
Tuccio was active in Puglia and Liguria in the last twenty years of the 15th century.
This work is packed with six saints: those on the left include St Peter the Apostle, Saint Peter Martyr and Saint Catherine of Alexandria; on the right a bishop/cardinal stands beside Saint Jerome.
Scattered across the base of the throne are more devotional symbols.
Vincenzo Foppa

The Madonna of the Swallow
National Gallery
Commissioned for the church of S. Francesco dei Zoccolanti in Matelica by Ranuzio Ottoni (Lord of Matelica) and Giorgio di Giacomo (guardian of the local convent of S. Francesco) in March 1490. It bears the arms of the Ottoni family. The former paid 60 ducats; the latter paid 310 florins.
The painting is in its original frame.

Coronation of the Virgin with SS John, Augustine, Jerome and Eligius
Uffizi, Florence
Commissioned by the Goldsmith's Guild of Por Santa Maria for the chapel of Saint Eligius in San Marco.
The writings of SS John, Augustine and Jerome all refer to the Coronation; St Eligius was the patron saint of the guild.
On the predella are scenes from the lives of the saints. (

Virgin and Child, the Doctors of the Church and the Family of Ludovico Moro
Brera, Milan
Commissioned by Ludovico Moro for the church of Sant'Ambrogio in Milan.
The painter, linked to the court, emphasises the most decorative aspects of courtly life - the clothes and the jewellery.
