It seems likely that Wölfflin's reference is to the Adoration of the Magi by Kulmbach's contemporary, Hans Baldung Grien (previous picture).Many of the works of both Hans Süss von Kulmbach and Hans Baldung Grien were formerly identified (in good faith or otherwise) as being by Durer.
